We've all been there as pet owners, it's always rough. My cat Midnight, who was the first cat I adopted on my own, died recently due to kidney failure. We tried to fight it for six months but he just eventually stopped eating and it was either more blood tests and more weight loss or end it. He was such a good cat too, always talked to you, always sat by your side, could've lived for another 10 years easy as he was only 8 and all my cats usually lasted towards 20. It's rough, my condolences on the loss. If you have place in your home and in your heart, there is no reason not to adopt another animal. Just do it when it feels right.
