There's also the chance that they're crappy DB's give up a long TD in 40 seconds instead of 4 minutes. That's a HUGE thing because the clock is finite.

Plus if they forced 10-play drive, that's more chances for the offense to make a mistake, which has directly lead to more than 1 victory against the Chargers. It goes both ways.
