I don't think it will. The NFL sees that it's boosting ratings. Like the steroid era of the mlb the league will milk every dollar out of this even if it pisses off football purists. You have the basketball execs as well calling for more and more offense. It's just inevitable. Our sports leagues are run by people who'd rather make $ than preserve the game.
I hate that the NFL is turning into this. But like reading a trashy b movie I can't take my eyes off of it.
