Maybe it's a bit of naiveté on the Chiefs part but if the police said there was no crime, the prosecuting attorney said there was no crime, the victim said there was no crime, and Kareem Hunt himself said there was no crime, why would they continue to believe there was?

Agreed. I thought about it last night and, at first, I was in agreement with the Chiefs. Now? I’m not so sure.
No one has pressed charges, the Police never nabbed him. The DA looked at the video and decided not to pursue criminal charges.
What I *think* was the deciding factor for CHUNT was the fact that Hunt lied about the incident when confronted about it. Can’t say for sure - but in most cases - you lie to your employer and it’s out the door....
Damned shame.
