The thing about In-N-Out that sets it apart is the consistency.

I've never had a bad meal at an In-N-Out, the restaurants are always clean, the employees friendly and helpful, and the food actually looks like the picture on the menu. It's cooked to order, the meat isn't frozen and the potatoes along with the burger toppings are always fresh. I can't say that for the other big burger chains...

I think people go to In-N-Out the first time and expect some type of burger epiphany, when in reality it is just a fast food (more or less fast) burger. If you don't set your expectations too high, take it for what it is, it's hard to beat. They also treat their employees well with benefits and decent pay.
