Hayes and West reunite towards the end in their elderly years. Hayes wants to remember but West is reluctant... mentioning something they both did...like something he'd rather not revisit.

There's also an interesting scene from the 90's version of Hayes/West where they received a call on the hotline...and played it back for the father. The girl says she wants the man on TV to leave her alone...(they held a press conference with the father pleading for the daughter to contact him)...she mentions her brother Will and that he was taken.

"The Man on TV" clearly isn't directed her dad whom she knows. Im thinking the man shes referring to is Hayes. Too much is pointing to him. I think he has somehow suppressed everything...even as they investigated it during the 80s....but West somehow knew all along.
