Distracted driving and kills a guy. Get's a 4 month paid vacation w/ a lateral move.
Damn this one is frustrating - surely more will come out of this. They can't just say 'oops' and move along. There's no way this was just an excusable incident - you don't drive through the back of someone hard enough to kill an occupant of a modern vehicle if you're paying attention at all.
Seriously - the amount of energy vehicles made in the last 20 years can absorb is just remarkable. He had to blast that thing at essentially full speed to do the damage he did. He simply wasn't paying attention and because he's a police officer it appears likely that absolutely nothing will come of it.
