As far as the "put him back out there," he was assigned to evidence and property, which means he won't be out patrolling neighborhoods or driving city vehicles very often, if at all. What's funny is plenty of people bitched about him getting paid leave, meaning he was still getting a pay check despite not doing a damn thing for his department. At least in this case he is providing a service to the department while waiting to see what Jackson County DA does with his case.

Firing is an option you know. If this was a private enterprise he would of been fired as soon as it was determined he was at fault.
