Ran out the 2nd with a bend towards reasonable outcomes that could screw the Chiefs again:
Cardinals -- Lawrence
Colts -- Layne
Raiders -- AJ Brown
Niners -- Ya Sin (earliest I could convince myself to force him up)
NYG -- Risner
Jags -- Jones
Bucs -- Jacobs
Bills -- Winovich
Broncos -- Butler
Bengals -- Lindstrom
Lions -- Love
Packers -- McCoy
Falcons -- Mullen
Redskins -- Harry
Panthers -- Cajuste
Dolphins -- Polite
Browns -- Thompson
Vikings -- Jones
Titans -- Samuel
Steelers -- Thornhill
Eagles -- Wilson
Texans -- Savage
Texans -- Long
Patriots -- Brown
Eagles -- Little
Cowboys -- Rapp
Colts -- Walker
Chargers -- Hooker
Now I think that Board is rooooouuuuugh for the Chiefs. But reasonably possible. And you're still left with JoeJuan Williams, Isaiah Johnson and Sean Bunting as CBs who I don't think are obviously worse prospects than Ya Sin. Maybe a little worse, but not a ton worse - certainly not so much worse that I'd take Ya Sin in the 1st.
Safety is uglier; Harris, Amadi, Blair, Redwin and maybe Johnson are a bit removed from the rest of the chaff there?
But ultimately I just don't care - I'd pivot. On that board I'd gladly take Ridley, Campbell, Arcega-Whiteside or McLaurin as a WR (though the back of this draft is stupid deep in WRs), Omenihu would still be nice here. Zach Allen is still on the board, as is Collier. There are some nice TE2 possibilities still around.
And that's knowing full well that I've pushed guys up in this draft just to keep them away from the Chiefs while driving guys down that don't fit us quite as well. I've made it as hard as I could imagine reasonably coming to pass and there are STILL some decent options there.
It's just not the likely graveyard that people think it could be.
Don't. Reach.
