James isn't one of the top 5 players in the league anymore (probably) but he's easily in the top 15 - he's not the reason the Lakers suck. He'd have fit so much better in that team and he'd have a hard time forcing an agenda through on a 3-year deal with a team that's actually winning around him.

James WORKS on that roster. The reason the James acquisition didn't work is the chaff that Magic put around him.
