It could be argued that receiver was a need even before that, and perhaps still is. It is not a deep position on the roster, at all, unless one considers unproven, undrafted marginal talent enough, when paired with a number one that missed much of last year, as seems to be the norm for him.

Not to mention we only have one TE of any quality.

Mahomes is amazing, but we need some talent around him. I hope the pendulum hasn't swung too far. Hill was a top-5 receiver trending up before all this. That's most likely impossible to replace. And there was nobody worth a shit behind him. I don't particularly want to be trying to win with defense, not in today's NFL, and that exactly what's going to happen if Kelce or Watkins goes down.

I'm not arguing against any of the moves made, just pointing out that I think we have some holes people don't or didn't recognize. I don't think we can assume the offense is just plug-and-play, that nobody but Pat matters and they'll be awesome no matter what...

Which is why I thought we were likely going receiver day 2 regardless.
