Are you disputing that cartoons are a viable form of film? We had a number of cartoon franchises nominated for this tournament, some of which (Toy Story and Shrek) even won their original matchups. Not only that, but you could argue that cartoons are the predecessor to all video effects, again pointing to the huge influence that Mickey Mouse has had on the film industry as a whole.
My point really is that it's easy to have a big influence on the industry in the early days since there was much less established as you go earlier in time. That's why your criteria alone don't really add up to much.
