One of things I always liked about KC as it relates to the players is that a guy could come here, an unproven rookie or as famous as the Eiffel Tower, and as long as he was cool to the fans and kept it real, he could walk down the street and the people would give him his distance, respect his privacy, and just let the man and his family live.
And all conversations when they occurred began with a tone of respect and courtesy. It seems we're losing that. KC is losing the "small town" city-charm that made players want to stay and raise families here. I wouldn't trade one Bobby Bell for the entire KC media in a hostage situation. They'd just have to tough it out while while Bob and I go get a drink and talk about the old days back in Gladstone.
