Excusing asshole behavior only begets more asshole behavior. Just because it works in your favor this time doesn’t mean it will the next go around.
Consistency is important to me. For example: this level of moral outrage towards KK over his comments about Reid as a father now compared to the identical comments he made at the time of Reid’s hiring. Some took issue with it, as a search of CP will show. But there was no major outrage to the extent that he was suspended, let alone fired.
I realize perspectives can change over time, but considering KK’s own moral transgress, I have a hard time understanding how this particular topic is just now becoming an issue. Which leads me back to my issue of consistency; wether it be us as a fan base or Whitlock jumping between hero and self serving prick, being consistent is important because it adds credibility to one’s position. How was that KK thought he could get away with his comments? Because he did once before.
This entire drama, from Hill to comments about Reid’s role as a father has been nothing more than an aids spiked antifreeze cocktail with a nasty moldy cheese stuffed olive as a garnish. Fans on both sides of the issue know our SB dreams are finally with in reach are losing their minds in the process. And after all of these decades of suffering I can certainly understand it - to a degree. There still comes a point where need to hold everyone, ourselves included, accountable.
