5 is too many to both hate and root against. I love the Chiefs, but I love football. If I find myself legit hating and rooting against up to 1/3-1/4 of the league, I'm not having fun, particularly with streaming and Sunday ticket.
I have core hatreds, and then my rooting interests evolve over the season depending on what is best for the Chiefs.
In terms of hatred, it's Broncos, Raiders, Colts, . . . in order, Alpha and Omega.
I can't hate the Patriots, because although they do a lot shady, they also do a lot admirable, and where results are the sole marker you have to give respect even if it's grudging.
Rooting against will likely start off Chargers, Browns, Pats, again in order. But that is highly likely to evolve as threats to the Chiefs' primacy arise week-to-week. If in week 10, the Chargers are 4-6 and the Ravens are 9-1, Chargers will not be my primary nemesis anymore, ferinstance.
