“When society allows unremarkable men like Irsay to be obscenely rich”.
Magary is a certifiable lunatic. Seriously, that guy would be Stalin if he had any power at all.
And that article is incredibly stupid.
First of all, Lucks injuries have been way overblown in all of this. SUre, Grigson was a clown and they waited too long to fix the offensive line, but they did fix it. He was hit less last year than ANY qb. His shoulder is better than ever now, he said so himself. He also said he had more fun playing football last year than at any other time in his life.
This calf/shin injury happened late last year. It was so bad at the time that he went ahead and played on it in the pro bowl. It just never went away. And he used it as an excuse to retire this year. I now believe that. I’m not bashing him for that, I just believe that’s what happened.
In 2016, he hurt his shoulder snowboarding. So it’s not like he wrapped himself in bubble wrap when he wasn’t playing football and that football and Satan incarnate Ryan Grigson is the only reason he’s not healthy as a horse.
Lastly, this defense is not going to be terrible. They’ve added everything they were missing last year, speed at linebacker, a quality backup corner, and pass rush help. They might not be the best in the league but they’ll be far from the worst.
