Guess that depends on what FPS you truly need. I cant think of any reason to constantly upgrade your CPU in a gaming machine. I'm still using a 4770k with DDR3. I upgraded my 770 to a 1070ti last year around this time when the cards started dropping in price back to normal retail levels, thats a 5 year gap between 1 upgrade that lets me play most all games on high settings, if not max.
