Also I should probably mention that Ramsay's character in Hell's Kitchen isn't just because America loves assholes on their reality TV.
A lot of people can cook, but that doesn't' make them a chef. Can you cook under intense pressure with 14 tickets ordered up and shit goes south in the kitchen? Are you mentally adroit enough to consistently put out quality food under those conditions?
A lot of chefs put their new employees under intense pressure to see if they can handle it. Long before Gordon Ramsay made it famous.
