Since my mother-in-law passed a couple of years ago, we go to restaurants for the holidays. My brother-in-law got divorced, my wife can't cook worth a shit, and while I probably
could pull off Thanksgiving dinner, I have no desire to try. We went to a place called The Clubhouse in Oak Brook. It was a buffet, but a top flight buffet. They had everything from fresh oysters to prime rib, but I'm a simple Missourian from the country, so I had turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, all slathered with gravy. Yummy.
No fancy city food on Thanksgiving for me.
