His hands are not big for his height. But it's possible that his hands are just strong, making his grip on the football tight in any weather.

An interesting point that got me curious about how mahomes grips the ball. Turns out his grip is really unique. Notice how he has an almost diagonal grip and that he almost holds it on top with his fingers together. Most qbs like Andrew luck hold the fat part of the football with their fingers spread. I have no idea if this has anything to do with being able to throw well in slop even with smaller hands. But it was different enough to point out.
