Synder fired Marty because he was trying to get Spurrier to jump to the NFL to coach the skins for like four years. Once Spurrier agreed Marty got the boot even though his team was getting better as the season went one finishing 8-8 with a cap strapped team with a bunch of scrubs and JAGs.
Tony Banks was the Skins starting QB for godsakes.
