I passively thought about trying to make the trip, but no way. It would be stupid. But Your explanation, though, I should have done it and went with your plan. That would have been awesome.
The last few sentences of #6 needs to be a PSA. And different iterations need to be PSA for all opportunities for butthurt helicopter parents.
