thats why I said “at least”.
A professional reacher said at a May 5th conference presentation that if the USA outbreak models on the Chinese outbreak we will need 1.9 million ICU beds over the next two months. We have no chance to provide even 1/2 that amount of ICU beds. That’s why you saw the medical professionals at the press conference saying time and time again about bending the outbreak curve.
Today’s moves are great. Exactly what we need right now. This may bend the spike in that curve and cause it to be spread out over a longer time and not overwhelm our ICU’s but I don’t think it’s political to say these moves should have been done weeks ago. If done then we would have bent that curve for sure. Now it’s going to be a lot more difficult.
Italy just reported 250 died in one day. Right now we are on the same track as Italy.
