Sure it is. But, bushmeat provides increased opportunity for transmission of several zoonotic viruses from animal hosts to humans. That is the "cuisine" that caused the SARs outbreak in 2002-2003, and is very likely to be the "cuisine" that caused this. It isn't even influenza, like swine flu.

So, again, I can't agree with you that there's nothing inherently dangerous with eating bushmeat. I mean, we are living it right now.
