I received at text from the city at 1:40pm PST
City of Los Angeles Advisory
LA Mayor Eric Garcetti urges LA residents to wear a face covering when doing essential tasks in public.
The face coverings
do not have to be hospital grade, but need to cover the nose and mouth. For example, bandanas, fabric masks and neck gaiters are acceptable and can be washed and used again.
Everyone performing essential tasks such as food shopping
should wear homemade, non-medical face coverings or even bandanas.
Mayor Garcetti stressed that people shouldn't wear medical-grade masks, which are in short supply and are needed by healthcare workers and first responders.
