Go to your local subway and ask for roast beef. A lot of them will not have it as their supplier was one of the first to cut them off and divert that inventory to a grocery chain. No one will panic over subway making you eat turkey, but an empty beef case in the grocery store scares the sheep.
A few states have proposals to allow the retail purchase of meat from local butchers ready to put up for discussion. It's basically an emergency deregulation. It'll be like pissing in the wind, but maybe it would help in some regions.
