Breville is always a good brand for such things though. But I hear Vitamix is excellent, does so much more than a mere blender such as smoothies. You can even make soup in them. Though it has a steep price tag.
I mostly use my NutriBullet especially for smoothies or grinding up flax seeds, nuts etc.
