Considering we opened over a month ago, it was to be expected. Even with all that we have far fewer deaths, and far fewer people dying every day in Texas as compared to many other places.

Hospital beds vs ICU beds are 2 different animals. One takes far more equipment and staff. I can tell you in AZ it’s staffing and equipment that will soon be short. Having surge beds only works with appropriately trained staff and the correct equipment. Not every nurse is equipped to be an ICU nurse. Those nurses are being run ragged here and the care for ICU patients will suffer.
