I have played a few war games here and there. One of my favorites is called Thunder at the Crossroads, which is a Gettysburg game. While playing that game I have been deeply moved by the carnage. All while rolling a few dice, moving some tiny pieces of cardboard around, and making little chicken scratches on paper.
