It's weird. It's a faint but constant smell. The instant something else comes along I don't smell it anymore but once whatever is in the air goes away it comes back.
I did a lot of reading about this when my smell\taste went away and essentially what I got out of it was your cells and neurons basically had to be rebuilt from scratch after Covid killed them so it is possible there is a long lasting if not permanent change.
