This is how you know Carr is not the answer. If you're really a top-10 QB, and your two best weapons are Ruggs and Waller, followed by Jacobs and Renfrow, there's not way you don't score at least 28 points/game. Against everybody.
Carr played two of the best games of his career vs. KC this season, essentially perfect, flawless games, far beyond his average. And still lost the second. The rest of the season he basically played like he was Kirk Cousins. Or worse.
But basically the recipe is yeah, you have to have a good run game, to keep the LBs close and slow down the rush, a true deep threat to take our safeties out of the middle/intermediate areas, and a great TE/slot to pick up the change along the edges in the intermediate range. And outstanding QB play to orchestrate all of that.
Every team that has beaten the Chiefs since the beginning of last season has had some version of this combination.
And every team that has not had outstanding QB play, but basically everything else, has lost to KC.
