Nothing is a guarantee. Drafting the 6th best LT prospect and expecting him to block the backside of the best QB in the league is a risk.

Trading multiple first round picks for a chance is a much bigger risk. Sorry but it is.
If they want to trade up into the 20's to get someone, fine. But you're still getting a guy that has some warts.
To get one of the best chances, they'd have to trade up into the low teens and that would cost 2 firsts PLUS. At that point, you're getting a guy like Slater who may or may not be better suited as IOL or Darrisaw, who is still raw.
It's just not worth it.
