Blythe played RG before? Cool. So did Zach Fulton. Hell, that was his natural position entering the NFL.

He was mediocre at best. But he was a pretty dang effective center.

Yes, the Chiefs like position flexibility, but they’ll probably rotate through LDT, Long, and Wylie before even thinking about Blythe at RG

From what I'm reading, Blythe's 2018 season at RG was really good. Not as good in 2019 due to injuries but ok.

After being drafted as a seventh-round pick in 2016, Austin Blythe began his career in solid form as he worked his way up from NFL backup offensive lineman to starting right guard for the Super Bowl-bound 2018 Los Angeles Rams.



The Rams added Blythe in 2017 after he was waived by the Indianapolis Colts. That year, he primarily served as a backup starting only one game in Week 17 when the Rams rested their starters against the San Francisco 49ers in advance of the playoffs. Last season was a different story as Blythe started in Week 1 replacing suspended RG Jamon Brown. Blythe’s performance was spectacular. He subsequently never relinquished the job and remained a starter for all 16 regular season games and three more in the playoffs.

Blythe is the right age, entering his fifth season, to lead the LA Rams offensive line in this next chapter. He has played with the Rams for three seasons and started 32 games. He has plenty of football left in him. But what quality of football will that be? Will he rebound to the healthy solid starter bordering on Pro-Bowl quality in 2018?
