Treat what is causing it. Most common would be post nasal drainage. If you are healthy, you could use afrin for a day or two which would help. Nasal fluticason would help with allergic drainage.
Ibuprofen typically helps quite a bit.
I usually make a cup of hot tea, and add bourbon, lemon, honey.
