Well realistically theres maybe 6 teams that can win a NC so unless 1 of those schools comes calling it wont matter. Nebraska can still pay top dollar for a coach and has good facilities which will be even better here in a few years as they just broke ground on some new stuff.
What makes this all the more frustrating is Frost didnt have to win 10 games this year or even 8. Just make a bowl gain a little momentum the state has alot of blue chip talent the next few years.
They wont even make a bowl this year again for the 5th straight year. All that talk on here years prior of Nebraska being irrelevant was overblown. They always had a chance to get back into things. Maybe not 90s good but Wisconsin consistent good definitely. All of that is over though this program is what Minnesota has became.
There will be no Matt Campbell or Bob Stoops coming to Lincoln. The best thing that can happen now is the sell out streak ends and as we get closer to being 3 decades removed from the Nebraska glory years the expectations fade but they can find a coach to build a solid program. Certainly possible but Nebraska as the program we all knew it as started to die November 2001 fought like hell to be that program again for 20 years and today is the day where you can officially throw dirt on it.
