It’s an afterthought because we won the game and did so going away, but had we not scored a TD that drive and lost by a FG or something, that play would’ve gone down as one of the biggest boneheaded gaffs in the history of post season sports. I was baffled at it for the same reason you were. My ****ing 10 year old knows that rule on top of the general principle of “run until the whistle blows”. I mean, how many times a week do we see players around the league pick up the ball after a clear as day incompletion or ball out after the whistle, but the player picks it up a runs anyway because, ****, why not? Let the refs stop you with a whistle. This moron had an NFL playoff game special teams TD and he just stood there. Was done with him then.
