The Mahomes contract has not even kicked in yet. That's the scary thing. The roster was pretty much garbage in 2018 even when he was still on the rookie contract. Right now he still has the cap hit of a 5th year option in the rookie contract. Front office has failed pretty bad with draft picks and other acquisitions, especially on defense.

The big question is whether Veach and his staff can start having more luck with draft picks and so forth as they move forward.
