Kegger II immediately starts falling back in the formation with the loss of an engine. Thinking fast, keg decides to jettison the bombs so he can stay in formation. It would be suicidal to carry the bombs to the target while out of formation, and his only other choice is to turn around and fly back to base. Instead, the plane will dump its bombs in the Western Channel and stay with the rest of the formation.
Tk13 dumps the bombs over water.

-waist – shells pierce the waist, killing JohnnyV13 with hits to the stomach and neck, and inflicting a light wound to KS Smitty’s left chest.
-port wing – A ball of fire erupts from the inboard fuel tank, and keg reaches for the bailout alarm. Too late. The fuel tank explodes, which in turn causes the #2 engine to explode, spraying fuel and metal through the front half of the plane. Kegger II breaks in half and plummets to earth.
Left Waist Gunner JohnnyV13 was KIA before the hit.
Pilot keg in kc (7), Copilot ChiefJustice (3), Navigator CHIEF4EVER (3), Engineer Otter (7), and Radio Op. JazzzLovr (3) are all killed in the initial explosion.
Bombardier tk13 and Tail Gunner kcfanintitanhell (3) are knocked unconscious in the initial explosion and ride the shattered plane to the ground and a KIA.
Ball Turret Gunner bowser (3) is blown out of the ball turret and doesn’t have a parachute. He falls to the ground alongside the plane and does a self-burying landing.
Right Waist Gunner KS Smitty (3), although wounded, is thrown out of the plane and manages to get the parachute open. An Fw190 circles around and strafes the parachute, killing the helpless crew member with shots to the neck and right chest.
