If we make it to the Super Bowl again, which I think we have as good a shot as anybody in the AFC this year, we're going to face the Bucs again.
The Rams spook me some, but the one team we simply don't have a mental advantage on is the Bucs. They've basically got a Top 3 head coach under center.
That's why the Raiders game was a bit more satisfying to me than it was others, I think. I think it was satisfying for most people on this board and across the fandom because "they look like the Chiefs again" and it was a relief they weren't horrible anymore.
But the Chiefs chewed up a well coached defense playing that two-deep that has vexed us since the Super Bowl. And if the Chiefs can chew up that D, the NFL will be scrambling for options going forward, including the Bucs.
We still have a few too many weaknesses, I fear, against the Bucs. Their coverage of Kelce was probably the best I've ever seen, and they still have Sean Murphy-Bunting erasing our slot options. Our OL is better and will help to protect Mahomes, but we're still going to have trouble running on them.
Meanwhile, we're going to have a better passrush if everyone stays healthy to put some heat on Brady, but I still worry about our corners against their league-best WR corps with the GOAT throwing the ball.
Anyway, I still don't know if I'd give the Chiefs the leg up in a rematch, but I like their odds against most anyone else.
