I don't think Salfino actually watches many games/snaps.
He keeps bringing up season-long stats and referencing games with significant garbage-time yards (like the Broncos. The fact they got to 400 yards by racking up 150 yards in the last 9:30 of the game, a period that started with them down 22-3, and a period in which they never trailed by less than 2 scores, is "concerning" to him).
Also keeps saying you have to include the early season stuff when evaluating (ignoring the injury issues and lineup changes that happened after the Tenn loss that have helped lead to the D's resurgence).
Stat guys who can't apply context are the worst.
I'm a huge stat nerd. But they are meaningless if you ignore context. (Like playing in a lot of blowouts and cruising on O as a result, or changes in personnel, etc.)
