Guy was 1 yard offsides and 1 yard there is just ridiculous. Now to be fair, the Chiefs one valid complaint may be Ford not be "warned" to get back on sides. If refs almost always do that, it sucks for the Chiefs for them to not do so in what turned out to be a big play.

Chris Jones appeared to be a bad call against the Chiefs but Edelman was held on that play anyways.

Chiefs committed more actual penalties but Patriots called for more.

Hill is simply too fast and even strong to be held much. Patriots contained Hill since they had a somewhat fast defensive back and they often doubled him. It wasn't one defensive back containing Hill by holding him, it was the double teams and some pressure on Mahomes that did it more than anything else.

There was an illegal pick play freeing up Sammy Watkins that setup a big Chiefs touchdown in the 2nd half of the game. Picks within 1 yard of line of scrimmage are legal but Chiefs did a pick well beyond 1 yard. Belichick was justifiably very upset after that play since it was a very egregious non call that easily could have won the game for KC.

While penalties/penalty yards often don't tell the story in that playoff game they were somewhat illustrative that the refs clearly were not favoring the Patriots.

Chiefs penalties that day 4-28 yards.
Patriots penalties 6 for 61 yards.

When Patriots held the Chiefs receivers that day and on a few plays they did, they were usually called for it.

Chiefs were often allowed to routinely hold Patriots receivers and they got away with it most of the time that day.

Everything you say is true. The irony is that on the pick play, the refs NOT calling may have WON the game for the PATRIOTS. If they had called it, it may have enabled to Chiefs to run more clock before scoring, leaving New England without a chance to respond,

Edelman was held on that play, but the ball may have been uncatchable since it was behind him
