Not hard to figure out. He seemed very interested in going defense. And he knows eberflus through Ballard. It moved quickly so poles likely knew who he was hiring as soon as he was hired. Again, there are many many legit reasons why poles didn’t interview EB that have nothing to do with respect.
Who said that Poles doesn’t respect EB?

All I’ve said is that he clearly didn’t feel that he was the best man for the job.
