Less than half of coaches hired since 2020 came from qb coaching. There has been just as much a trend toward power running and defense. It’s why guys like Arthur smith and Campbell were hired. We’ve seen plenty of defensive guys, special teams and TEs background coaches move up the ranks. Black coaches who are well represented in these areas are not getting nearly as many opportunities either.
Again, we’re not talking about 50/50 representation. We’re talking 1/32 on a predominantly black demographic league. You think that’s entirely explained a way by white qbs? I get that the reason behind this is complex and not as sinister as some make it to be. But how can anyone dispute that something feels very off about that?
