My MIL who is in her 70's got covid a few weeks back via my infant son who got it from me. She stayed in the house with her husband and her MIL. She is now testing negative and my FIL and his mom never tested positive. So it can be done if they take precautions. All are vaxxed and boosted.
Your mom should be wearing an N95 in the house and not driving in the same car with your dad.
