I belong to a minority group as well and I‘m in a leadership position at a major investment bank but would never hire someone just because he or she is belongs to my or any minority group, the qualification should always be the major hiring criteria. Certainly there are people out there who do not perform well in job hiring interviews, but as person in leadership position, usually you are still capable of identifying whether that specific person is still qualified. I can understand the frustration of minority people, people of color, but there are examples out there, in which a black GM or person of color hired a white person. It’s not all about racism. The process itself must be fair and balanced, meaning, you should be able to apply.
