If you believe there are (even proportionally) as many qualified Black coaches/front office workers, then you look at a conscious push to hire them as a move toward equity, and long overdue. You look at the WHITE coaches as having been given Special Treatment.
If you believe there are simply not Black candidates as worthy of the job - at all levels, apparently - then you think of it as “affirmative action” and special treatment. Ignoring that you are racist in your initial thinking that Black candidates simply aren’t as qualified as White ones, then you still have the problem of seeing a move towards fair and equitable hiring practices as negative. These candidates are getting special treatment that take away from a qualified White candidate!
It is a way of brainwashing to view the advancement of minorities as negative and the protection of white dominance as positive.
