The selection of players might be the most rigorous, data driven and merit based recruitment of any occupation. Hell, these guys are recruited before high school and every public analyst and fans weigh in on these decisions. There is nothing unusual about the demographic splits. Have you ever heard nearly the active effort to get more black players into hockey? No. Because people don’t doubt that players are usually picked out of merit.remember when urban got destroyed for bringing in Tebow on a meaningless contract? That’s how much these decisions are scrutinized.
That 2/3, you would expect, would at least influence who manages them, not the other way around. The selection of coaches is way more subjective and people pay way less attention. It’s not a secret that the nfl is as bad as it gets when it comes to favoring a good ole boy network.
