It started in SB 54. No trophy walk? The part where they walk the trophy out as the epic music plays and the players get to relish the fact they actually did it. They reached the mountain top. They haven’t done it since SB 53.
But there’s way more
No intro montages for the teams being introduced? What?
No intro theme ala stand by me last year where it shows both teams and their stories leading up to this season along with their families chiming in. Hell they even had a hologram of Vince Lombardi giving a speech lmao.
This year they walked out of the Tunnel. No intro piece. No team introductions no nothing. Just the Rock being cringy.
I know people will say who cares? Me. Obviously the game is the most important but the SB should FEEL EPIC. Like you’re about to witness the final chapter of an epic movie

Yeah, it was weird. I only saw bits and pieces of the game but it felt just like a football game, not a Super Bowl. Even after the 4th down play that iced the game, the celebration seemed kinda meh. Maybe with LA winning that eliminated a passionate fan base angle and so it just seemed kinda sterile but it's also possible the NFL has become more about betting and fantasy than it has about storylines and games and so they just figure "what the hell? People will watch and bet it anyway, so why not cut some corners". I type that as a gambler and fantasy player but I wonder if that stuff has taken away a little from the passion of the overall sporting aspect of it.
