Second, the play was designed to go to Kelce quickly in the end zone. Most likely a throw on the high side so that if Kelce doesn't come down with it, it sails OOB killing the clock. Kelce was open on the play. Mahomes made the wrong read and got greedy.

Also it was reported by the sideline reporter (Tafoya maybe?) that Mahomes was talking to Ried asking for one more shot. Mahomes went to Reid, not EB. |
