Management told him to lose games. That is something that was unethical and against NFL bylaws and possibly illegal(?) as it relates to gambling and the NFL's new embrace of said activities.
That particular allegation isn't a 'management process'. It is something that the team, if the allegation is proven, should be sanctioned for.
So instead of quietly slinking away he chose to be a whistle blower. Of course he will be attacked for that.
